Chapter 331 of the Air Force Association has been offered an opportunity to award a scholarship to Space Camp by one of the Wings Over Marietta airshow performers - Lt. Col. Jill Long. Her Ragged Edge team is associated with Space Camp, and they are offering a scholarship for a 6 day Space Camp in Huntsville. Tuition, lodging and meals will be provided, a potential value of nearly $1,500. The scholarship is good for attendance to a Space Camp by October 2010. It is being offered to the 12-14 year old range of students. The criteria for selection is a written essay that addresses the theme "Why you want to be part of Space Camp," or something like that. No more than 2 pages, the essay needs to be submitted to Chapter 331 by October 8th. The winner will be announced during the October 18-19 airshow. The winner will be invited to attend an Air Force Association event in 2009 to share their Space Camp experience. Please share this with as many deserving students as possible, and let us know if you have any potential candidates. Thanks very much for helping AFA share the enthusiasm for space.
